The first of our Bitter Blues is branch member : John Pickup.

John is ever present on our match day coaches and has become renowned for complaining regarding any of the slightest problems thereon, irrespective of the coach company concerned.
He normally sits behind the coach convenor and within earshot of the unsuspecting driver in order that his moans and whinges can be clearly heard.

According to John our coaches have been too large, too small, too hot and too cold. Noisy, uncomfortable, without T.V.or video, and most recently without satisfactory radio coverage.
Although there is a radio installed on our regular coach, this fails to meet John’s expectations, as it is ‘not loud enough’ and cannot be tuned into GMR.

Concerned branch officials, fearing an outburst at the forthcoming AGM have tried to ‘smooth over’ the situation, only to be told by John “We never had this problem with Mayne’s. Quite simply it’s not good enough. It has to be sorted next season”.
